Chad lost his brother Tim to cancer at the tender age of 18. St. Jude's Hospital was instrumental in keeping him with his family for seven years after he was first diagnosed. The physicians and staff were a wonderful blessing to his family during that difficult time.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass is devoted to improving the health and well-being of children and strengthening families by keeping them together in times of medical need. It provides facilities and support for those families while their children undergo medical treatment at nearby hospitals.  Chad first learned what a blessing these houses are through his church which had adopted the home in Lexington.
